Rylan Clark-Neal revealed as spokesperson for the United Kingdom

The BBC have just announced their spokesperson for the final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2019. Their semifinal commentator and Eurovision aficionado Rylan Clark-Neal will see his dream come true!

Flying the flag from London

The British broadcaster revealed the news through Twitter. In the video message, Rylan says he’s very much looking forward to presenting the United Kingdom’s votes.

We just need to hope that his flight arrives on time… Rylan will be commentating on the semifinals of the Eurovision Song Contest alongside Scott Mills. He’ll be in Tel Aviv to attend the event for those shows. He will fly back to the United Kingdom afterwards to present the votes on Saturday. Rylan is clearly very excited for the opportunity. He says:

I’ve waited my whole life to do this and I can’t believe it’s finally happening! I’m excited for everything!

The Eurovision roller coaster

Rylan Clark-Neal can certainly say he’s been part of the Eurovision roller coaster for a while now. The BBC invited him to be part of the national final expert at Eurovision: You Decide. Later, they asked him to travel to Lisbon to replace Mel Giedroyc as commentator at the semifinals.

After joining BBC Radio 2 earlier this year, the 30 year old returned to You Decide as part of the jury, this time with voting rights. It’s safe to say he’s been ticking the boxes of Eurovision and he’ll have a new box to tick next month: From national final appearances to the commentary booth and now the green screen with a projection of the London skyline… Or something else?
