Duncan Laurence takes the lead in OGAE Poll

The OGAE Poll has a new leader! After constantly swapping first and second place between Italy and Switzerland, we now have a new leader in the OGAE Poll. Duncan Laurence from The Netherlands has taken the lead with 281 points. The gap isn’t big, though: Luca Hänni follows on 280 points… and Mahmood has 279!

OGAE Russia surprise

Three new sets of votes have come in. OGAE Germany, OGAE Luxembourg and OGAE Russia have all sent in their points now. The most remarkable set of votes comes from Russia.

The Russian OGAE has decided to not award any points to current leader Duncan Laurence from The Netherlands, second places Italy or third places Switzerland. They are the first OGAE to ignore all three favourites and the first ones in general to not give anything to Luca Hänni or Mahmood. Their high scores of ten and eight points go to countries we, until today, found at the lower end of our scoreboard: Tamara Todevska from North Macedonia picks up ten points, Jonida Maliqi from Albania gets eight.

At the same time, Russia help to bring two new countries to our scoreboard. Czech Republic immediately set off well with six points for Lake Malawi. They also gave two points to Latvia, whose OGAE picked Sergey Lazarev as their favourites. Carousel now join a list of countries sitting on two points, together with Estonia, Hungary and the United Kingdom.

OGAE Germany and OGAE Luxembourg agree on their top two. Both countries decided that Switzerland is their favourite for Tel Aviv. “She Got Me” has by now received ten sets of douzes. In second place for both Germany and Luxembourg, we see The Netherlands’ Duncan Laurence, who now takes the lead.

Iceland on the rise

Thanks to OGAE Russia’s top three, we see a lot of movement on our leaderboard. Iceland’s Hatari have climbed to ninth. “Hatrið Mun Sigra” is now sixteen points ahead of Greece, who score nothing at all today.

Obviously, both North Macedonia and Albania climb massively. Both Tamara and Jonida climb four places and are now in 18th and 19th. Newcomers Czech Republic now claim 23rd. Despite picking up a point from Luxembourg, Kobi Marimi from Israel is the biggest loser. He loses three spots and now finds himself in 24th.

At the top of the scoreboard, we now find Duncan Laurence. His 281 points are just enough to take over from Mahmood. The Italian star slips down into third place with 279 points. Splitting the two is Switzerland. Luca Hänni has 280 points. Like yesterday, it is still very much too close to call with just two points separating the entire top three.
