Second Cherry podcast

Second Cherry is the podcast that revives the songs that didn’t make it to the Eurovision Song Contest. Each week, our very own ESCXTRA editor Matt and co-host Monty, take you through a different country’s national final and pick the cherry that they think deserves a second chance; a second bite of the cherry. At the end of the series the listeners vote online for their favourites (as the ‘televote’) and at a live event the team crown the winner of the Second Cherry Song Contest. You can read up on how the vote worked in last year’s contest here.

The series has already kicked off, so to find out what ‘cherries’ have been picked for the Second Cherry Song Contest 2020 so far, you can catch up on each episode below…

The event

Last year the 2019 show formed part of the regular Eurovision night Eurofest, held at London’s Royal Vauxhall Tavern. Like all live events at public venues, plans for the second chance fan contest is all dependant on Covid-19 coronavirus govenment guidelines around public health. Therefore, there is no news regarding the 2020 show but the team hope to update everyone soon with an announcement of dates and venue.
