Serbia: Nevena Božović releases English version of ‘Kruna’

This is the latest of multiple versions we have of the song

RTS, Serbia’s national broadcaster, has released an orchestral version of Nevena Božović’s “Kruna”, sung in English. This comes shortly after the release of the official music video for the entry. This is now one of multiple versions of the song that we’ve now heard.

In English, the title of the song is “The Crown – Eternal Light”, which Nevena recorded with the Symphony Orchestra of Radio Television of Serbia. The recording took place at Studio 6, Radio Belgrade, with the orchestra being conducted by Bojan Suđić. You can watch the clip below:

Previously, she had also released a revamped studio version of her entry, which features more ethnic Serbian elements. Following that, she released an intimate acoustic version of Kruna, showcasing her beautiful vocals.t

Nevena Božović at the Eurovision Song Contest

This is not the first time that Nevena will be competing in the Eurovision world, in fact, she’s basically a veteran at this point. Nevena competed in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest back in 2007 with ‘Piši Mi‘, where she placed third overall.

Then, in 2013, Nevena competed in the Eurovision Song Contest, as part of the group Moje 3 with ‘Ljubav Je Svuda‘. The group unfortunately did not make it past the first Semi-Final, placing 11th on the night.

Nevena will once again return in the Eurovision Song Contest, following her victory in this year’s edition of Beovizija, Serbia’s national selection. She will be performing in 9th in the first semi-final on 14th May for a place in the Grand Final on Saturday 18th May.

Serbia at the Eurovision Song Contest

Serbia debuted as an independent nation at 2007 with “Molitva” by Marija Šerifović which won the competition. In 2008, Serbia had the honor of hosting the competition in Belgrade.

Since their debut, Serbia has participated eleven times. Out of their eleven participations, they have managed to make the final eight times.

In 2018, Serbia was represented by Sanja Ilić and Balkanika with the song “Nova Deca“. In Lisbon, they managed to bring Serbia back to the Grand Final (after failing to qualify in 2017). They managed to finish 19th out of the 43 countries participating in 2018.
