ESCXTRA.com are live in Israel at the Expo Tel Aviv press centre for day 2 of rehearsals ahead of the Eurovision Song Contest 2019! The countries rehearsing today, in chronological order, are Belgium, Georgia, Australia, Iceland, Estonia, Portugal, Greece and San Marino.

Rehearsing right now inside the Expo Tel Aviv is Katerine Duska, performing “Better Love” for Greece. We will continue to update this article as each run through takes place, so make sure to keep refreshing for the most up-to-date review!
The performance begins with a giant white rose bud centre-stage, Katerine standing centrally in front of the bud. She joined by two dancers with fencing swords and three other dancers sat on the floor. Two of these dancers are also backing vocalists. All are dressed in white.
At the beginning of the performance, the backdrop is black with pink LED stripes around the edge of the stage. We also see a rose image on the LED floor. We see the two backing dancers/singers clapping their arms aloft in a sort of bird motion.
The backing singers give this track an added impact live, contribute harmonies and include extra “hey!” sounds. During the middle of the song, one dancer brings a big white sphere onto stage which she promptly throws out into the audience.
The final chorus sees the white rose bud turn around which is then full of flowers. Katerine pulls off her high note with ease at her first attempt, one of the only acts to go for a high note on their first attempt this weekend. She then moves towards the front of the stage for the “what are you waiting for” outro, before all six performers come back into the middle for the ending in which two dancers then produce gymnastic ribbons for the final second.
There’s a lot to this performance, but it does feel that it all flows thematically and is visually interesting throughout without feeling a need to produce something shocking or irrelevant.
