Note: Both Latvia & Moldova and Austria & Sweden have swapped places in today’s rehearsal running order.

Rehearsing right now inside the Expo Tel Aviv is Carousel, performing “That Night” for Latvia. We will continue to update this article as each run through takes place, so make sure to keep refreshing for the most up-to-date review!

Latvia have opted to ditch their black and white camera effect that we’ve seen during their performances in Supernova. Instead, we see the band in colour and the camera has overlays of little twinkle and light effects to give the performance a feel that it is being filmed on an old camera in older times.

The majority of the performance is made up of slow camera shots, several of which are filmed by a cameraman circling the band onstage.
Sabīne is wearing a white outfit with a dark green country-style hat. She is accompanied by her three bandmates, playing their instruments.

Latvia uses the cinema-style effect for the entirety of performance, in which the television feed introduces black bars framing the performance. For example, previous uses of this include Czech Republic’s Mikolas Josef last year.

Stay tuned for our reviews for the rest of today’s rehearsals here at the Expo Tel Aviv. My first memory of watching the Eurovision Song Contest was back in 2001 and, over the years, my passion and enthusiasm for the contest has very much turned into an obsession. I adore music and I love geography, so this contest is a natural fit for me. If la la loving Eurovision was a crime, I'd certainly be a criminal!
