12 Eurovision Celebrities we would put into a Big Brother house

With the turn of the year comes a brand new edition of Celebrity Big Brother in the UK. Previously, Conchita Wurst was rumoured to be entering as Channel 5 wished to jump on the Austrian bandwagon which left us wondering… who would we really want to see in a Eurovision Big Brother?
We got curious as to who would make the best lineup so we asked you on all of our social media platforms, we asked other Eurovision media outlets (plus a special guest expert media outlet) and we also asked our own editors.
We’ve even picked a hostess for the show, following in the footsteps of UK fan favourite hostesses Davina McCall and Emma Willis. It could only be Suzy, the co-creator of the #suzyshake alongside our Simon and Rodrigo.
Ricardo Reis
All of this has left us wondering, who would the Eurovision fans vote for? So, in typical UK Big Brother fashion we’re asking you. Who wins? You decide.
Here’s the list of contenders for our hypothetical Eurovision Big Brother 2016:

Bonnie Tyler

The Telegraph
A natural choice for Glen Bartlett, presenter of Welsh radio show W12P, our first housemate is Bonnie Tyler. Having represented the United Kingdom in 2013 with “Believe in Me”, maybe she’d be the perfect housemate. If we gave her a singing task with a karaoke machine, she’d be singing until we stopped her! We also have a sneaky feeling that she might already be drunk before she arrives… which would definitely settle her in fast!

Petra Mede

SVT
Petra’s name was a popular one on our social media profiles and our special guest expert media outlet, the leading UK based Big Brother fansite, bbspy also elected Petra as their choice for Eurovision Big Brother housemate. A very popular Eurovision and Melodifestivalen hostess, Petra would provide comic moments in the house as well as entertaining everyone with her witty humour.

Krista Siegfrids

Mikko Räsänen
Another very popular candidate on social media, we couldn’t omit everyone’s favourite Finnish “Ding Dong”! We’re viewing this as a perfect holiday for Krista before she goes on to host UMK and then entering MF too. Who KNOWS what to expect from this bundle of Finnish fun? All we can say is that we reckon she’d give it her all to everything that crossed her path inside our house.

Tooji

Erlend Lånke
The first of our very own suggestions, Tooji, the Norwegian representative from 2013, is sure to get ladies and certain gentlemen hot under the collar when he gets topless for his showers or to go swimming in the pool. He’ll defend himself to any who dare to cross him and is sure to show us an everyday life version of his personality.

Silvia Night

icelandicfilms.info
Star of her very own TV show, we thought that Silvia Night would be the perfect housemate to throw into the mix. She riled reporters, production teams and even general public when she made her appearance in Athens for the Eurovision Song Contest 2006. Ten years later, we would love to know what she’s like now.

Terry Wogan

The Times
Well, we wouldn’t have it any other way really! Inspired by the roving reporter Terry Vision at Eurovision analysts ESC Insight, we’ve decided to send former UK Eurovision commentator and one-time host Terry Wogan into the Eurovision Big Brother house. Perhaps there might be some tension too if we throw in some housemates from the Eastern side of the Berlin Wall after those results in 2007.

Knez

EBU
Picked by Eurovision news website Eurovoix, Knez showed us the sounds of Montenegro and the rhythms of the country on stage in Vienna. They wanted to see whether this Balkan star could stand his own in the house. We happen to think he could!

Sofi Marinova

EBU
The unofficial mascot of escXtra, she was always going to make it into the house. Expect dancing on her own to up-tempo music and some swagger to throw around at other people. She also might tell people she loves them in their mother tongue. Could be an early contender for the crown.

Andriy Danylko / Verka Serduchka

ESC United
We received some tweets about this one and we agree it would be a good idea! We’d be expecting Andriy to come in character for the launch night but it would be a lot of effort to expect him to get ready every day to face the house as Verka. However, we’ve seen a lot of his character’s personality when Verka Serduchka represented Ukraine at the 2007 contest and also recently appeared in the action spy comedy film “Spy” in 2015 but we haven’t really seen much of Andriy’s own personality. This would be a good opportunity for him to show the world who he is!

Donatan

Donatan Official Facebook Page
We don’t know an awful lot about the named producer on Poland’s successful 2014 entry. Cleo sang her way to the Final and even finished 5th on the televote, despite being 14th overall. It would be interesting to hear about Donatan’s experiences of the contest given he was generally behind the scenes on the staging and performance elements and if he would do it again for Poland.

Linda Martin

RTÉ
There was absolutely no chance we’d pass up the opportunity to perhaps hear the former winner say “you are an odious little man” to one of our other housemates. She might be singing “Why Me?” in response to housemates nominating her for eviction though, so we’d better prepare ourselves for that!

Rambo Amadeus

''mapa'' - Montenegro Advertising and Production Agency
Finally, our last contender for the title is somewhat of a wildcard choice. Rambo is famous for not only his music but his humour too, something that mildly came across with his entry for Montenegro, “Euro Neuro”. We’d hope he’d keep the house as entertained as Petra Mede!
Now, all that’s left is for you to vote for who YOU want to win Eurovision Celebrity Big Brother!
