Rehearsing right now inside the Expo Tel Aviv is Mahmood, performing “Soldi” for Italy. We will continue to update this article as each run through takes place, so make sure to keep refreshing for the most up-to-date review!
Mahmood is in a polo top with a cream shirt over the top. We see translated lyrics on stage in English. In case you were wondering, the clap clap wasn’t forgotton here in the press centre. Although that wasn’t highlighted much with the visuals on stage. There are similar visuals to his music video with dark shadow figures of himself. In fact, there is a lot of imagery going on. Maybe they are testing some ideas at this early stage?
Mahmood’s adlibs are appropriate and tight – no over-singing here. Worth noting that there are no props, just LED. And he is joined on stage by three dancers who seem to be mirroring his unique attitude. It’s a really coherent performance but I wonder if it has the wow factor.
Stay tuned for our reviews for the rest of today’s rehearsals here at the Expo Tel Aviv. If you want to know what to expect for the rest of the day, check out our rehearsal schedule.
