Rehearsing right now inside the Expo Tel Aviv is Miki, performing “La Venda” for Spain. We will continue to update this article as each run through takes place, so make sure to keep refreshing for the most up-to-date review!

The Spanish stage is filled with 6 giant boxes in a 3-by-3 formation to give the impression of different rooms in a house. In the first verse, Miki goes to each box to interact with his other dancers. Miki is dressed in a black t-shirt and jeans, with his dancers in casual pastel coloured outfits.

Into the first chorus, the LED backdrop changes from white into a colourful paint splat. Miki steps in front of his 6 boxes and performs synchronised choreography with his dancers still inside their own boxes.

Entering the second verse, the dancers leave their boxes and we are introduced to a giant animatronic white puppet, the point of which we don’t seem to know just yet. There’s lots of clapping movements in the middle 8 in which the LED backdrop converts into a live kiss cam for the audience to enjoy… or not!

Miki and his dancers move onto the catwalks in the final chorus, finishing in the middle of the arena.

Stay tuned for our reviews for the rest of today’s rehearsals here at the Expo Tel Aviv. My first memory of watching the Eurovision Song Contest was back in 2001 and, over the years, my passion and enthusiasm for the contest has very much turned into an obsession. I adore music and I love geography, so this contest is a natural fit for me. If la la loving Eurovision was a crime, I'd certainly be a criminal!
