🇦🇱 RTSH withdrew from Junior Eurovision 2020 due to Covid-19

Still no participation this year

Albania decided to skip Junior Eurovision Song Contest this time despite getting a new chance to join.

According to ESC Plus, who reached the Albanian Head of Delegation, the country withdrew due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Kleart Duraj stated they don’t want to risk any participant this time even though there’s a new format for the contest in 2020. However, RTSH is going to come back when the situation improves.

Albania at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest

Albania entered the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2012 and participated 6 times since then. The best result for the country to date is 5th place reached by Mishela Rapo with the song “Dambaje” in 2015.

Last year Isea Çili represented Albania with the song “Mikja ime fëmijëri” and came 17th.
