Although the Eurovision season may be over for the adult contest, preparations for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest are just getting started! Georgia, one of the most successful countries in the contest, have just selected the first entrant for the contest! Following Ranina, the Georgian national selection, Giorgi Rostiashvili will be representing Georgia in Gliwice, Poland this November!
This Sunday, Ranina – Georgia’s national final for Junior Eurovision – took place. The show saw three young singers compete for the ticket to represent their country at this year’s contest in Gliwice, Poland. The original field of 10 participants was whittled down to three. The result comprised of a 100% jury vote, who could score participants a maximum of 10 points. The results were as follows:
Place | Participant |
1st | Giorgi Rostiashvili |
2nd | Ana Berishvili |
3rd | Anastasia Garsevanashvili |
In the spirit of Junior Eurovision, everyone walked home a winner! Ana, the runner-up will be the Georgian spokesperson for the Grand Final this year. Meanwhile, third-place Anastasia will be joining the Georgian delegation in Gliwice to experience to show too! Giorgi’s song will be selected internally by GPB.

Georgia at the Eurovision Song Contest
Georgia debuted at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2007 which took place in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Their debut entry, “Odelia Ranuni” by Mariam Romelashvili finished in 4th, with 116 points. They have since competed every year and are arguably the most successful country in the contest. Georgia have won the contest three times (in 2008, 2011 and 2016).
Following their most recent victory in 2016, they hosted the 2017 contest. This marked the first time a Eurovision-adjacent contest has been hosted on Georgian soil. Last year, they were represented by Tamar Edilashvili with “Your Voice”, finishing in 8th place. Will Georgi bring Georgia another top 10 JESC finish? We will find out on November 24th.
