No JESC return for Montenegro in 2019

While North Macedonia have confirmed participation for this year’s Junior Eurovision, RTCG have confirmed Montenegro sadly won’t be making an appearance in Poland.

Head of Delegation for Montenegro, Sabrija Vulic, explained to Eurofestivales:

We are not going to participate in the Junior Eurovision Festival 2019, the reason is that we do not have money for it.

Montenegro in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest

Montenegro have participated twice in the contest, making a debut in 2014. Maša Vujadinović and Lejla Vulić came 14th with the song Budi dijete na jedan dan. The following year in Sofia, Jana Mirković represented the balkan nation with the song Oluja and scored one place higher at 13th with 36 points.

Junior Eurovision 2019

This year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest will be held in Gliwice Arena, Poland, on the 24th November 2019. It marks the first time Poland will host a music-based Eurovision event!

At present, the following countries have confirmed their participation:

  • Albania
  • Australia
  • France
  • Georgia
  • Ireland
  • Netherlands
  • North Macedonia
  • Poland
  • Portugal
  • Russia
  • Wales
