First five Eesti Laul 2022 finalists decided

All-star line-up in the first semifinal

Today the first of the two semifinals of Eesti Laul 2022 took place with ten songs competing for the five places in the final.

  4. Alabama Watchdog – Move On
  5. Merilin Mälk – Little Girl
  6. Stig Rästa – Interstellar
  7. Triin Niitoja and Frants Tikerpuu – Laululind
  8. Kaia-Liisa Kesler – Vaikus
  9. Elina Nechayeva – Remedy
  10. Ott Lepland – Aovalguses

In tonight’s line-up we saw three artists who have represented Estonia in the Eurovision Song Contest before. Stig Rästa took part with Elina Born in 2015 with “Goodbye to Yesterday”, Ott Lepland represented Estonia in 2012 with “Kuula” and Elina Nechayeva competed in 2018 with “La forza”. All three of them gave Estonia a top ten result from the contest. Two of tonight’s contestants, Elysa and Merilin Mälk, had to miss the semi-final and competed with the music videos only.

The five finalists from the first semi-final will be joined in the final by the other five finalists, who will be decided on February 5th. Estonia will select their Eurovision 2022 entry on February 12th. The winner of Eesti Laul 2022 will compete in the second semifinal of the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin, Italy on May 12th.
