🇦🇺 Eurovision – Australia Decides will return in 2022

2022 is going to bring us the new edition of the Australian national selection

As Blink TV states, ‘Eurovision – Australia Decides’ on the Gold Coast will be returning in 2022.

Earlier Montaigne had won Australia Decides 2020. However, the Eurovision Song Contest was cancelled so she didn’t have a chance to represent her country. As Montaigne was confirmed for Eurovision next year, there will be no Australia Decides 2021.

The 2022 edition will be held in February, however, further details are yet to be released.

Australia at the Eurovision Song Contest

Australia got an invitation to participate in 2015 for the first time to commemorate the 60th Eurovision Song Contest.

Earlier Australia has used an internal selection to select its representatives. In 2015 Guy Sebastian debuted for the country with the song “Tonight Again”. Afterwards, the national broadcaster chose Dami Im with “Sound Of Silence” in 2016, Isaiah with “Don’t Come Easy” in 2017 and Jessica Mauboy with “We Got Love” in 2018.

In 2019 Australia switched to a televised national selection called Eurovision – Australia Decides. Kate Miller-Heidke with a song “Zero Gravity” won the first edition of the show.

In 2020 it was Montaigne’s turn to represent the country with a song “Don’t Break Me”. However, due to the pandemic and the contest cancellation, she got the opportunity to compete in Rotterdam in 2021. Montaigne is already working on her next entry.
