Céline Dion in the Eurovision Song Contest 1988

With the honour of being Switzerland’s last winner 31 years ago, Céline and the impassioned ballad ‘Ne partez pas sans moi’ has transcended the world of Eurovision to international superstardom. Taking victory in Dublin with 137 points – only one more than the United Kingdom’s Scott Fitzgerald, what an alternative trajectory that could’ve been! Since then Céline broke into the English language music scene. Most famously for the Titanic soundtrack, ‘My Heart Will Go On’. Which has contributed to Céline selling over 220 million albums worldwide and becoming an icon in the industry.

My first Eurovision memory was watching 1994 as a hatchling. I've been tapping my talons to the bops and bangers from Europe and beyond ever since! I finally spread my wings to attending the contest in Lisbon 2018 and am now a regular at many events and national finals - especially my regular nest at Eesti Laul.
