EBU and Croatian broadcaster HRT has confirmed that Croatia will be hosting the Eurovision Young Musicians 2020 in Croatia in Zagreb. The contest will take place on June 21, 2020, at King Tomislav Square, which will coincide with World Music Day, which celebrates the music of all genres being performed outside.
HRT is honoured to host the Eurovision Young Musicians
The Director-General of HRT, Kazimir Bačić has mentioned a few words, in regards to hosting the contest next year:
“HRT is exceptionally honored to host Eurovision Young Musicians in 2020 in Zagreb! We will stage the competition for the very first time and, as it is the 20th edition, that makes us even more proud.
We are pleased to partner with the Croatian Ministry of Culture and the City of Zagreb for the event. As a country that is known around the world for its hard-working musical talents as well as its great cultural heritage – Croatia, Zagreb, and HRT – are ready for this wonderful experience.

Executive Supervisor to the EBU Jon Ola Sand has also commented on HRT and Croatia hosting the competition next year:

Eurovision Young Musicians 2018
The last Eurovision Young Musicians took place in 2018, where Ivan Bessonov from Russia managed to win the competition against its close competitor Nikola Pajanović from Slovenia. Ivan also made an appearance in this year’s competition, giving the Jury points for Russia in this year’s Eurovision Grand Final.
