RTSH have officially announced that Albania will participate at next year’s contest.
Following their second consecutive appearance at the grand final this year, the broadcaster kick started their plans for next year with an open call for artists and composers.
The 58th Festivali i Kenges is due to take place in December. The winner of the festival is given the right to represent the country at the Eurovision Song Contest and have done so since their debut in 2004.
The broadcaster invites interested artists and composers to submit their entries by email, no later than 15th September 2019. Alternatively, applications can be mailed directly to RTSH’s head office in Tirana.
This year, Jonida Maliqi represented the country with her entry Ktheju Tokës. The ethnic ballad managed to reach the grand final where it finished in 19th place.
