🇮🇹 Diodato’s “Fai Rumore” goes platinum in Italy

Just over a month after his win at this year’s Sanremo, Diodato’s “Fai Rumore” has recently reached platinum status in Italy!

First platinum record of his career

“Fai Rumore” becomes Diodato’s first single to go platinum in his music career. Written by himself and Edwyn Roberts, it is included in his latest album Che vita meravigilosa, which was released back in February.

His song has been awarded the platinum disc by FIMI, meaning it has exceeded 70,000 streams and sales via the likes of iTunes and Spotify, among other platforms. Other Sanremo songs have also received official certificates from FIMI, such as Pinguini Tattici Nucleari’s “Ringo Starr” and Elodie’s “Andromeda”, both of which are now gold.

Since the news broke about Italy going in lockdown due to the Coronavirus outbreak, Italians have found hope in singing “Fai Rumore” from their balconies while in quarantine. Citizens are unwilling to remain quiet for so long, and are determined to “make noise” as Diodato’s song suggests.

Italy in Eurovision 2020

Diodato will represent Italy with his song “Fai Rumore” after winning Sanremo 2020 and accepting the invitation to perform at the Eurovision Song Contest.
