After recently confirming that they will be participating at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest later this year, it has been confirmed that Melani Garcia will be representing the Iberian nation at Gliwice-Silecia in November. Melani found out her participation in the contest live on the air during the spanish show ‘A Partir De Hoy’
Who is Melani Garcia?
Melani was born in 2007 in the town LA Eliana in Valencia. Her musical career began at the age of eight, when she took part at the local choir and was taught Mozart’s opera ‘Due pupille amabili’ by her teacher.
She also taught herself classical music, when she did not get accepted in the Music Conservatory School. In addition to this, she also plays the violin and she is learning how to play the piano.
Music-wise, Melani has released a couple of songs. Her debut single ‘Vivo Por Ella, is a homage to Andrea Bocceli and the track was made famous by the Spanish singer Marta Sanchez, which you can listen to below:
Mealni’s entry for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest will be confirmed at a later date.
Spain at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest
Despite only taking part of the contest FOUR times, Spain actually had a pretty good track record in it. They nabbed the trophy in 2004 with María Isabel and “Antes muerta que sencilla”, NEARLY nabbed it by ending second in 2003 and 2005 AND finished fourth when they last participated in 2006. If only that success carried over to ESC…
For a quick reminder of their winning entry as well as a jolt of energy and personality Las Ketchup could only DREAM of, check out the performance for “Antes muerta que sencilla” down below:
