🇦🇲 Athena Manoukian releases music video for “Dolla”

The video was directed and edited by Athena herself!

Back in May, Athena Manoukian released “Dolla”, the follow-up single to her Eurovision 2020 entry “Chains on You”. Last week, she released a behind-the-scenes video for the filming of the official video for “Chains On You”. Now, the Greek-Armenian singer-songwriter has released the official video for the single.

Similarly to “Chains On You”, the lyrics for “Dolla” were written by Athena herself. Additionally, Athena produced the song alongside DJ Paco. The song is a natural successor to “Chains On You”, through veering into a tropical pop sound for the summer. In the video, she traded tripping in diamonds to dripping in gold.

As my fellow Athenians will know, life is music and she is a composer. Not only did Athena write and co-produce the song, but she also directed and edited the video herself! The talent! You can watch the official video below:

About Athena Manoukian

Athena Manoukian was born in 1994 in Athens, Greece and is of Greek-Armenian decent. In 2008, she participated in the Greek national final for the 2008 Junior Eurovision with “To Fili Tis Aphroditis”.

In 2017 she wrote the music and lyrics for former Eurovision winner Helena Paparizou’s “Palia Mou Agapi”. The track featured on the singer’s 9th album Ouranio Toxo, which reached number one in Greece (no pun intended) and is certified Platinum.

After a stint on X Factor UK in 2018, she expressed interest in participating in the contest, either for Armenia or Greece. Fast forward to February 2020, she won Depi Evratesil and therefore became the Armenian representative for Eurovision 2020.

Currently, it is unknown whether Armenia will participate in Eurovision 2021, let alone whether Athena will be their artist.
