The Eurovision YouTube channel reaches a milestone by achieving four billion views worldwide proving that the spark of the contest keeps shining bright even in the off season.
How It all started
The Eurovision YouTube channel got its first upload in 2007 which you can check out, here. Most of the preview videos for all the participating entries have exponentially grown as has YouTube as a streaming platform, but as the contest has managed to gather fans way beyond the European borders.
So exactly 12 years after its humble beginnings, an even larger audience and hype around it we can all say that we were here for the day the official Eurovision channel reached over 4 billion views.
However, international fans have been complaining about the geographical bias when it came to watching some of the performances. This is all about to change by Netflix taking over and making Eurovision available to everyone; you can learn more about that here.
