Another week comes to an end and that means it’s New Music Friday! Storms are gathering across parts of the world this weekend and we can't think of a better way than to banish them with bangers. So it’s time to share the best new releases from the Eurovision world this week. Over the following pages is everything you need to know for your weekend playlists! Sirusho - 'Summer Love: Vuy Aman' Back in 2008 Sirusho dazzled everyone in Belgrade with 'Qele Qele' and earned what is still Armenia's joint highest finish of fourth place. Over a decade later and the Queen of Summer is still releasing hit after hit. This time we're taken on a follow up to the duet with Sebu, one half of Capital Cities, 'Vuy Aman'. Now Sirusho is taking the lead with some 'Summer Love' of her own and written by herself. Where 'Vuy Aman' spoke of a passionate love spanning the continents, here is the realisation of experiencing a summer with a loved one. "You left a mark right on my heart, I’ll follow you eternally." Also a rare treat to have an English language song from Armenia's greatest export besides apricots. As always, Sirusho provides a lovely Visit Armenia advert with her self-directed video seeing the sights of Gyumri and the intricate camera shots blending seamlessly into the lush electronic, dance hall beats of the melody. Now Lithuania's highest scoring Eurovision entrant and production maestro behind the new talent emerging in Eurovizijos is back again and wanting us all to like 'Man Patinka' or in English 'I Like'. Like it we do! Never afraid to explore all the genres that music has to offer, Donny is taking us back to the Drum and Bass vibes of the 90s rave scene. But it has a fresh lick of paint for the clubs of Vilnius with hints of traditional elements in the chorus. The song explores the intoxication of love as Donny relates the experience to a good night out in the music video. Hadise - 'Geliyorum Yanina' It's been a decade since 'Dum Tek Tek' blessed the Moscow stage and Turkey's answer to Shakira had us all hip shaking. Hadise has been a powerhouse of Turkic bangers ever since, as well as lending a hand to her native Belgium for their Eurovision selection back in 2016. Eventual entrant Laura Tesoro even performed Hadise' signature hit during the process! Now Hadise comes with 'Geliyorum Yanina' aptly titled in English, 'I'm Coming Next'. That she is! The song is a feel good anthem bringing together elements of the 80s electronics and disco beats mixed into the familiar sound of the Turkish Summer. The clip for the song was filmed over 33 hours with the help of 70 volunteers and will be premiered at Hadise' Harbiye Open Air concert. She had this to say about the release on social media: I'm coming to you now on all digital platforms. My dear friends Gülşen and Ozan worked day and night for the song. It's a great feeling to meet again in a song after years! From the lyrics to the instrument we decided together, and finally we finished our song by shooting the clip. It's hard to turn up the music and dance until morning!Hadise (Instagram) https://open.spotify.com/track/3hbIYwZdRwBuBdXwKfwOg6 DoReDoS - 'Shokolad' They brought the fun factor to Lisbon with the some of the most intricate and engaging staging ever seen on the Eurovision stage with 'My Lucky Day'. So lucky that it gave Moldova only their fourth top ten result. Now they follow it up with another carefree single to lift the spirits of any gathering storm clouds. 'Shokolad' or 'Chocolate' in English makes you want to melt into the smooth rhythm of the melody on any dance floor. Eugeniu Andrianov and Marina Djundyet who have penned the song, have ensured it retains the catchy hooks we have become familiar with of all their varied songs over the years. The 80s trumpet melody is fused with modern dance beats to make sure it will be a timeless classic. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7P4aiMYPpJU Eldar Qasimov - 'Rising Up' Back in 2011 as part of Ell and Nikki, Eldar rose up and claimed victory for Azerbaijan with 'Running Scared'. Bringing together the familiar unison of Baku and Stockholm, the co-written track 'Rising Up' sees Eldar explore Scandipop banger beats and let loose with some slick choreography with the NERO Dance Crew. Although it's an infectious bop, at its core is a song about the feeling of being constantly let down in life and love. But also how there's an inner strength in reclaiming your identity and moving on. "You're no longer the fire of my object of desire." It's not the typical heartbreak anthem, but a song of the motto 'what doesn't kill you makes you stronger'. The music video was filmed over two days with the dance crew in Baku. Many will remember Lena as the flame-haired vocalist from Russia's most famous duo t.A.T.u. Back in 2003 they came in as the hot favourites to win the contest in Riga. They had recently shot to worldwide fame with everyone's favourite lesbian awakening anthem 'All Things She Said' and that kiss. However they had to settle for third place in one of the tightest results in Eurovision history. The top 3 being separated by just three points! After that time t.A.T.u. continued to blaze a provocative trail across Europe and were pioneers in bringing Russian music to the West. Still being recognised for their influence by being part of the Moscow 2009 contest interval act and during the Sochi Winter Olympics in 2014. Since then the duo has split. With Yulia and Lena working on solo projects. Now Lena returns with new album Mono. A compilation of songs she's worked on over the past few years and released in time for this Summer. Very appropriate timing as they're all a seamless transition of electronic and relaxing chill out melodies with Lena's distinctive vocals. Her first Russian language album. Kim Cesarion - 'Show Me' The ever busy Melodifestivalen starlet Molly Hammar is always ready to show us her releases here for New Music Friday. This week is no exception! From crossing over to the UK charts with Big Narstie and more recently featuring on the Swedish soundtrack for The Lion King, there is no stopping Molly Hammar. Now she is back with 'Show Me' and brings together a collaboration with Swedish crooner Kim Cesarion. Molly's powerful vocal takes central focus, as the duet complements each other perfectly in this slow jam, end of the night love song. 'Show Me' is effortlessly smooth as its RnB flavour tells the sultry story of two people completely in love and being hopeless romantics. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VDRrjm5ddhw Ana Guerra, Mike Bahía - 'Sayonara' Still proving there's life after Operación Triunfo, Ana Guerra has backed up 'Lo Malo' with a string of the good and great across the Spanish charts. After 'Lo Malo' stormed the Latin markets and went 5x Platinum, Ana released debut EP Reflexión which came with releases of a string of successful reggaeton bangers including 'Ni La Hora' and 'Bajito'. Now Ana returns with brand new single 'Sayonara'. In some ways saying 'Goodbye' to the traditional sound we are used to. Instead we have a playful Latin melody with easy listening elements. Both the song and the video brings out a fun and comedic side of Ana. Here she travels from Japan to Medellin and finally her hometown of Tenerife. Meanwhile Colombian singer Mike Bahía is the one doing the chasing in this acting partnership. Thereby reversing the usual trope of women chasing after men and becoming a song of empowerment, as Ana says goodbye to this fleeting relationship. Where if she's asked, her name is not Ana. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1YTZYpsH4dQ Dotter - 'I Do' Emerging Swedish singer-songwriter first came to wider attention in her Melodifestivalen debut in 2018. That year she took part with the intricate ballad 'Cry'. Unfortunately Dotter missed out on making the second round of voting by under 60,000 votes. Thereby finishing in 6th place in the Malmö heat. However this was not Dotter's first foray into the Melodifestivalen machine. In 2017 was participating as a songwriter. She co-wrote Mariette's electronic pop anthem 'A Million Years' that would finish fourth in the final. Since then she has burned through the 2018 Summer with a 'Heatwave' and has continued her work with Sweden's best. Earlier this year Dotter teamed up 2015 Eurovision winner Måns Zelmerlöw and performed their duet 'Walk With Me' during this year's Andra Chansen. Now Dotter is back with new single and new video 'I Do'. It's immediately striking with its dark electronic organ piano chorus. This is enhanced by Dotter's distinctive tone. 'I Do' is a proposal of love and its inferences to the chapel and marriage play nicely with the themes of the instrumentation. We are definitely saying 'I Do' to this experimental track that works perfectly for Dotter's vibe. Although unless your washing machine is broken, we don't advise swimming fully clothed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EUZsnLNOBJk Madeline Juno - 'Grund genug' Back in 2014 a young Madeline Juno participated in Unser Song für Dänemark. She came with the emotional drum kick anthem 'Like Lovers Do'. The song had transcended the German selection process and became the soundtrack for the film Pompeii. Unfortunately the song failed to progress to the second round of voting. However that hasn't stopped Madeline from continuing her underground success releasing two further albums, Salvation and DNA. Next month will see the release of her fourth studio album Was Bleibt. Already Madeline has released 'Automatisch' and now she has followed it up with 'Grund genug' for New Music Friday. Still with her angelic tone that flows softly in the German language 'Reason Enough' in English continues to show her music craft and writing beyond her years. The melancholic electronic guitar beats wrap around a story of pain and heartbreak. Whether in life or love, Madeline is wanting to be free of a situation of lost trust.
