Eurovision winning composer Lise Cabble releases first solo single

Danish songwriter Lise Cabble has made her debut as solo artist at the age of 61. The “Only Teardrops” composer does so with a song in her native tongue: “Tjekker Ind Og Ud”.

More than a composer

The single is a chance for Lise Cabble to show the world she’s more than just the fantastic composer we’ve got to know over the past years. Her career as a singer started back in 1986, when she became the lead singer of Miss B Haven, a Danish band. Between 1986 and 2000, the band released nine albums. The last album was a ‘Best of’, as the girls split up in 1997 already.

Ever since, Cabble has dedicated her time to songwriting for other artists. No less than four Danish Eurovision entries have come out of her pen. The first three all made the top five, with Aud Wilken’s “Fra Mols Til Skagen” and “New Tomorrow” by A Friend in London both coming fifth. Her peak came in 2013, when Emmelie de Forest won the Eurovision Song Contest in Malm√∂ with “Only Teardrops”. Leonora represented Denmark at the contest this year with “Love Is Forever”, also written by Lise Cabble.

Collaborating with Emil Lei

Leonora’s Eurovision entry was not just written by Lise Cabble, but also by Emil Lei. Cabble and Lei have teamed up again for “Tjekker Ind Og Ud”, as Lei produced the track.

Talking about her solo debut, Cabble says it’s a big step for her to take. Over the years, she didn’t encounter many songs she could see herself singing – until a year ago, when a couple of songs popped up for her. She however didn’t want to commit to an entire album immediately and will take it one song at the time. Now she’s released “Tjekker Ind Og Ud”, she’ll spend time on writing her second song.

With a youthful elegance, Lise Cabble convinces on this first ever solo song. Make sure to check it out below!
