The Scoop

Demi Lovato and Dan Stevens join “Eurovision” movie cast

With filming for Will Ferrell’s Eurovision film well underway, more and more stars are being announced as part of the cast. The latest additions are “Legion” star Dan Stevens and global music sensation Demi Lovato.

A birthday surprise

Ferrell announced Lovato via an Instagram post yesterday whilst she was celebrating her birthday:

Remember Camp Rock?

“Eurovision” will be Demi’s first live-action film appearance in ten years, her most recent being in “Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam” in which she co-starred alongside the Jonas Brothers.

With the “Eurovision” film premise worrying many Eurovision fans thus far, Demi’s presence amongst the cast may go some way to appease them considering her fantastic vocal talents.

Dan Stevens goes Russian

Meanwhile, a few days ago Dan Stevens was announced to be playing the Russian “Eurovision” contestant, Alexander Lemtov. Rachel McAdams, Pierce Brosnan and Will Ferrell himself are all also set to star.

My first memory of watching the Eurovision Song Contest was back in 2001 and, over the years, my passion and enthusiasm for the contest has very much turned into an obsession. I adore music and I love geography, so this contest is a natural fit for me. If la la loving Eurovision was a crime, I'd certainly be a criminal!
