🇳🇴 KEiiNO go festive in ‘A Winter’s Night’

Their first Christmas ballad!

Another week draws to a close and it’s time for New Music Friday! With less than 50 sleeps until Christmas Day, Eurovision 2019 televote winners KEiiNO have decided to get us in the festive mood early. This week they release the Christmas single ‘A Winter’s Night’.

A Winter’s Night

For many this year, the festive season will have a very different feel than what we are used to. So it is no surprise that KEiiNO have captured the shift in mood for this perfectly timed release of ‘A Winter’s Night’. Here Alexandra takes the lead as the trio show their vulnerability in this gentle Christmas ballad. This shift in direction shows yet another layer of their sound. As the song feels like a mug of eggnog on a cosy Winter’s night. With the warm strings of the Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra to relax in front of the log fire to.

Yet it reminds us that Christmas is not a celebration for everyone, who may be thinking of absent loved ones at this time of year. As well as the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, which will keep us separated this Winter. Which is why KEiiNO are donating half the proceeds from the single to the Norwegian Mental Health Helpline. In order to bring awareness for what everyone has had to endure this year, touched on in a recent interview with Tom Hugo. The song was written by the trio, along with Sordal who worked with them on ‘Transarctic Lover’ and Alex Olsson.
