XTRA DECIDES sees the team here at ESCXTRA score the Eurovision national final songs, reviewing our winner. Follow us from here through to March 2024 as we make our choices for Eurovision 2024.

Norway’s Melodi Grand Prix continues tonight with the third of three semi-finals. As before we will be picking our favourites from each of the semi-finals before eventually choosing our favourite to win the contest.

KEiiNO with “Damdiggida” is our favourite from this semi-final. Based on our scores, MIIA with “Green Lights” and Vidar Villa with “MER” would also be our choices to qualify for the grand final.

Sabien (Vidar Villa – “MER”)

This is easily my favourite of MGP this year! I expected much more hype around it and truly hope it does well among the more ‘noticeable’ songs that have gotten more attention. “MER” is fun, uplifting, and really well-produced. 12 points from me!

Bente (Vidar Villa – “MER”)

Like Sabien, I just don’t understand that there’s not more hype around this song! It’s probably my favourite in MGP this year. It’s upbeat, fun, and in Norwegian as well, which is always a plus. I’m not sure how well it could do in Eurovision, but I would surely be having a good time if this does much better than people expect!

Lisa (KEiiNO – “Damdiggida”)

Well I’m sure nobody is surprised to learn that KEiiNO are my favourites of MGP once again! They know their market and exactly how to keep creating hit after hit. This time in ‘Damdiggida’ we go on a flashback to 90s Clubland classics as Alexandra takes centre stage. There isn’t very much of Tom in this one, so that will be interesting to see how that comes across in the live performance. Although I have no doubts KEiiNO will put on a show to remember in MGP. I need enough lasers and glowsticks to rival Tomorrowland! I would not be surprised if KEiiNO end up at Eurovision again, but they have fierce competition in what is going to be a very strong final.
