Dates for Melodifestivalen 2020 Confirmed

Eskilstuna will be hosting Andra Chansen

Dates for Sweden’s national selection has been confirmed for the 2020 season. Veteran cities such as Malmö and Gothenburg will be making a return, with the Final taking place in Stockholm.  Tickets for the shows and the rehearsals will be released on October 31 at 9 AM.

The cities and dates for Melodifestivalen 2019 are as follows:

  • Linköping – Semi Final 1 – February 1
  • Gothenburg – Semi Final 2 – February 8
  • Luleå – Semi Final 3 – February 15
  • Malmö – Semi Final 4 – February 22
  • Eskilstuna – Second Chance – February 29
  • Stockholm – Final – March 7

Melodifestivalen 2020 in full swing

In addition to the confirmation of the tour dates, preparations for next year’s competition has already started. The Grand Final of P4 Nästa took place on August 24, with Amanda Aasa confirmed as the first Melodifestivalen 2020 participant. The submission period for next year’s competition also opened, with interested songwriters having until 15th September to submit their entries.

Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest 2019

Sweden will be hoping to carry on their run of good form after this year’s result. John Lundvik represented the country with his song “Too Late For Love”. John ended up finishing 5th overall with 334 points.
