Along with the host city reveal, the EBU confirmed the dates for the Eurovision Song Contest 2020. The Grand Final will take place on 16 May, with the semis on 12 and 14 May.
Day without conflicts
The date chosen to host the hold the contest is a day without issues, as we stated a while ago in an editorial. All other Saturdays in May had several issues, also with the potential Formula One race taking place in Zandvoort in early May. That race has now been confirmed for 3 May, which means the Opening Ceremony of the Eurovision Song Contest doesn’t clash with the race.
All that needs to be considered is the two official days off in the Netherlands, 4 and 5 May. Rehearsals might take place there and a solution is necessary. We are however sure that the organisers will find one soon.
