Duncan Laurence visits the Belgian coast and receives a golden record

It has been more than three months since Duncan Laurence won the Eurovision Song Contest. In that time he already traveled to many places inside and outside Europe, so he visited the Belgian coast in mid-August.

Q-Beach House

Now that we are approaching the end of the summer, the brand new Eurovision Song Contest-winner can look back on perhaps the busiest months in his life. It has already been a real rollercoaster and there is not yet an end to it.

In his full schedule he found some space to go to the Belgian coast on Sunday 18 August. There he was a guest at the Q-Beach House in Ostend, from where Belgian radio station Qmusic presents its radio programs every summer. Duncan had a short talk with the radio hosts and brought his ‘Arcade’ in front of the audience at the beach. Duncan loves to interact with his fans, but due to the lack of time, he decided to make one big selfie with the entire audience present.

Radio 2 Zomerhit

Later that day, Duncan went a few miles to another seaside town, Blankenberge. A few days on beforehand, Radio 2, another Belgian radio channel, announced that Duncan would give a surprise appearance as the interval act during the 45th edition of their annual event Radio 2 Zomerhit, a show in which Flemish artists get nominated with their current hit and the people in Belgium are able to vote for their favourite summer song. A stage in Israel or on the seawall of Blankenberge, Duncan Laurence wraps up its audience everywhere. Right after his performance he received a golden record in the name of Belgium.

Right before the show, in an interview with Showbizztv België he tells about what has happened to him in recent months. He says that from time to time it is nice to enjoy what is happening and the fact that his life has really become a fairytale, but according to him, dreaming in a realistic way is the best thing to do. He hopes to conquer step by step the whole world with his biggest passion, making music. New work will come soon, he mentions!

Laura Tesoro nominated for Zomerhit

During Radio 2 Zomerhit, other former Eurovision participants were present such as Laura Tesoro (Belgium 2016), Tom Dice (Belgium 2010) and Clouseau (Belgium 1991). Laura Tesoro was one of the nominated candidates to win the trophy of summer hit 2019. The song she represented was a cover of ‘Thinking About You All The Time’ by Stef Kamil Carlens.

Duncan’s near future

As said before, the busy schedule will not slow down soon. Duncan Laurence is about to start with the rehearsals for his tour through The Netherlands and later on through Europe. The NL Tour is already completely sold out.
