Eurovision Prediction

Welcome to Eurovision Prediction 2020!

Yes, it is now September which means we have officially begun the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest season. Of course, with a new Eurovision Song Contest season comes a new edition of everyone’s favourite Eurovision-related game… Eurovision Prediction 2020!

Breaking all records in 2019… thanks to you!

Between 2014 and 2017, the fantastic Glen Bartlett created and hosted this fantastic online game but unfortunately stepped down from the game after the contest in Kyiv. Thankfully, he let us here at ESCXTRA.com become the new hosts of the game! Both regular players and brand new players joined us for Eurovision Prediction 2019, our second year in charge, and we absolutely SMASHED the previous record number of participants for a second consecutive year!

An unprecedented 345 of you took part in Eurovision Prediction 2019. A whopping 58% increase over game’s previous record of 218 players achieved back in 2018, our first year in charge. In addition, we have increased the number of players by more than six times the 58 players that took part in 2017. Once again, we thank everyone who has played in 2019. Now, we hope you’ll join us all over again for Eurovision Prediction 2020!

What is Eurovision Prediction?

For those of you who have never played Eurovision Prediction before, it is a game where Eurovision fans from all over the world battle it out to become the champion! All players need to do is predict which entry will win each national final that takes place during the 2020 Eurovision season.

At the end of the season, the player with the most points takes the victory and becomes Eurovision Prediction Champion! We will once again award a special prize to our 2020 winner. We shall reveal the official rules in the coming weeks…

Looking back at Eurovision Prediction 2019

After an unbelievably close competition this year, in which the top 50 were separated by just 25 points, the big prize went to James M. from Australia! James kindly tweeted an image of his prize which you can see below. Perhaps next year it will be YOU winning a special prize?

Our pleasure James!

In 2018, Alex S. from Portugal was awarded a selection of items obtained by our press centre team on-site at the contest in Lisbon following his victory in Eurovision Prediction!

Our pleasure Alex!

As mentioned above, we shall reveal the official rules for the 2020 game in the coming weeks. After that, we will just be waiting for the first national final to take place. But where will it be? We predict it will be Albania’s Festivali i Kënges towards the end of December, do you? Or maybe we’ll throw in a little Junior Eurovision round for fun?

Ryan Cobb

My first memory of watching the Eurovision Song Contest was back in 2001 and, over the years, my passion and enthusiasm for the contest has very much turned into an obsession. I adore music and I love geography, so this contest is a natural fit for me. If la la loving Eurovision was a crime, I'd certainly be a criminal!
