Jurors for Junior Songfestival 2019 revealed

Could The Netherlands double down on another Eurovision win this year?

With the Junior version of the Eurovision Song Contest approaching, things are heating up all over the continent and Australia. The Dutch Broadcaster, AVROTROS reveals the names of the jurors both kids and adults for the upcoming edition of Junior Songfestival 2019.

Both juries will have a 66% say in total when it comes to selecting their representative for the upcoming Junior Eurovision taking place in Gliwice, Poland.

Junior Songfestival 2019 will take place on September 28th and will see four acts competing for the chance to represent their country on the big Junior Eurovision stage.

Jurors for Junior Songfestival 2019

The adult jury contains three members and they are, as follows:

  • Kaj Van Deer Vort
  • Tabitha
  • Edsilia Rombley – Dutch Eurovision representative in 1998 and 2007

And on the kids jury we have:

  • Max & Anne – Representatives of The Netherlands at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2018.
  • Anna

The Netherlands in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest

Max & Anne were selected to represent The Netherlands through ‘Junior Songfestival 2018’ with their song ‘Samen‘ which translates to ‘Together’. The duo managed to place thirteenth in Minsk, with 91 points overall, placing fourteenth with the jury and sixth with the online voting procedure.

The Netherlands has managed to win the Junior Eurovision Song Contest once. Back in 2009, Ralf Mackenbach defeated the competition with his entry “Click Clack”. On their last ten participations, they managed to score a top ten result eight times. They’ve hosted the show twice, in 2007 and 2012, with Rotterdam and Amsterdam both serving as host city once.
