Eurovision 2020

Submission period to find Swiss ESC entry has started

On September 2nd, German language Swiss broadcaster SRF announced on their official Twitter page that the submissions have opened for singers to apply to represent Switzerland in Eurovision in Rotterdam next year.

Last year, Switzerland used a combination of an expert jury and an audience jury to select their entry, “She Got Me” by Luca Hänni, which placed fourth in Tel Aviv.

You can submit a song to SRF here. The submission window ends at noon CET on September 16th.

Switzerland in the Eurovision Song Contest

Switzerland is one of the seven countries to compete in the first Eurovision Song Contest in 1956. Switzerland also hosted the first Eurovision in Lugano. Switzerland also won the first edition of Eurovision with the song “Refrain” by Lys Assia.

Switzerland would have to wait 32 more years before their second and latest win occurred in 1988 in Dublin, Ireland. The legendary Celine Dion won for Switzerland by one point with the song “Ne Partez Pas Sans Moi.”
