Another week comes to an end and that means it’s New Music Friday! So it’s time to share the best new releases from the Eurovision world this week. Over the following pages is everything you need to know for your weekend playlists!
KEiiNO – ‘Venus’
Firstly on New Music Friday are the Eurovision 2019 televote winners KEiiNO. Today they return with their ninth single of 2021. From a ‘Spirit In The Sky‘ to a voyage to ‘Venus’, this track is an intergalactic trip to the 80s. Over recent weeks Alexandra Rotan has explored her musical range in singing reality show ‘Stjernekamp 2021‘. With fierce guitars this new single is an anthem celebrating that journey of Alexandra’s self love.
This summer, Alexandra came to us with a melody that we all though was really, really good. We felt this one belonged on a big stage, and that the lyrics should be powerful. So, Alexander wrote about Alexandra’s journey towards a final performance in Stjernekamp. Luckily for us and for the song, Alexandra has done her job extremely well and we can all join her on the stage tomorrow where “Norway’s best entertainer” will be crowned. For us, there is only one QUEEN, and we cross our fingers our captain will have an amazing night whatever outcome.

Dami Im – My Reality
Next, and taking us to church is 2016 runner-up, Dami Im. Following her change in music direction to ABC Music, today she released her sixth studio album, My Reality. Most of all, that reality is Dami showcasing her authenticity as an artist. Overall, ten tracks feature on this relaxing origin story of Dami’s Gospel and Soul roots. Previously released from the album are ‘Crying Underwater‘, ‘Kiss You Anyway‘, ‘Marching On’, ‘Paper Dragon‘ and ‘Lonely Cactus‘. Before the album launch, Dami released the music video for ‘Pray’. An experience people, with or without faith can relate to. This is a pop-ballad with a message of hope when all hope has seemed unlikely in these difficult times around the world.
Montaigne – ‘Now (In Space)’
Although Australia’s 2020 and 2021 representative Montaigne couldn’t make it live to the Rotterdam stage, that hasn’t stopped her making an interstellar trip to, err… space. The ‘Technicolour‘ singer returns with new hair and her second release since Eurovision 2021. As well as a vibrant, psychedelic music video, matching the hyper-pop beats. One giant leap for Montaigne, who floats around a green-screen space background, paying tribute to the kitschy karaoke bar style videos. This serves as the first single of an as yet unnamed album. Which Montaigne describes as, “the peak of my career.”
Soleá – ‘Báilalo’
Last year, Spanish star Soleá gave the Iberian nation back to back third places in Junior Eurovision with her Latin bop, ‘Palante‘. Now she returns with the third single from her self-titled album. Equally as catchy, ‘Báilalo’ sees Soleá give us another Summer worthy anthem. With rhythmic castanet instrumentation enhancing the flamenco production. Despite its fun appearance, this joyful bop is also a reminder we should dance with one, inclusive heart, breaking down barriers together.
