After a week of voting, We Are Domi have been announced as the winners of ESCZ 2022 and will represent the Czech Republic at the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest. They will be performing the song “Lights Off” on the stage in Turin next May. The group won the selection with 21 points.
The winner was decided by a combined vote – 50% international jury, 25% international public and 25% Czech public. The seven finalists recorded a performance in a format similar to the Live on Tape backup used for Eurovision 2021. “Lights Off” becomes the second song released for this year’s contest, after Bulgaria’s entry was released earlier this month.

With a total score of 120 points from the jury (which converted to 12 points) along with 3 points from the Czech public vote and 6 points from the international public vote, We Are Domi were selected as the winners of ESCZ 2022.
The electro-pop band formed in the United Kingdom in 2018 and are currently based in Prague. With members hailing from the Czech Republic and Norway, Eurovision.tv describes the band as channelling “a unique blend of electro and Scandi resulting in an alternative-pop sound”.

ESCZ 2022: Full results
The full results of ESCZ 2022 were revealed in a live stream on Eurovision’s official YouTube channel this evening. The results were as follows:
- We Are Domi – “Lights Off” (21 points)
- Elis Mraz – “Imma Be” (17 points)
- Guidi – “Jezinky” (15 points)
- Emma Smetana x Jordan Haj – “By Now” (12 points)
- Skywalker – “Way Down” (12 points)
- Annabelle – “Runnin’ Out Of Freakin’ Time” (11 points)
- The Valentines – “Stay or Go” (6 points)
Czech Republic in the Eurovision Song Contest
The Czech Republic debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2007 with the song “Malá Duma” by Kálas, coming last in the semifinal with 1 point. They’ve competed a total of 8 times in the contest, first qualifying for the final in 2016 with “I Stand” by Gabriela Gunčíková, finishing 25th.
Their best placing came in 2018 with “Lie to Me” by Mikolas Josef, placing 6th overall. Their last entry was “Omaga” by Benny Cristo in 2021, placing 15th in the semi-final with 23 points. This marked the Czech Republic’s first non-qualification since 2017.
