Ictimai, the national broadcaster in Azerbaijan, confirmed their participation for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest 2020 in Rotterdam next year. The contest next year will mark their 13th consecutive participation in the contest since their debut in 2008.
Another country confirmed for 2020
Since their debut, Azerbaijan took part in every contest. The highlight, of course, was the victory in 2011. As Azerbaijan is always in for a good position in the contest, we are excited to see what they are coming up with for Rotterdam. It’s still open how they will select their representative. An internal selection is likely like in recent years.
This year Azerbaijan was represented by Chingiz and his song “Truth”. He finished in 8th place in the Grand Final in Tel Aviv, bringing Azerbaijan the best result since 2013.
