WATCH: Cher rocks ABBA’s “Waterloo” on America’s Got Talent

Not many Eurovision songs can claim the success of that one song that surfaced in 1974: “Waterloo”. And not many of those with the same success can be so successful on the other side of the ocean… until Cher touches it. A year after the ABBA cover album, Cher has now performed “Waterloo” at America’s Got Talent!

ABBA Mania for Cher

Ever since appearing in the film Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, Cher has been nothing short of an ABBA maniac. For the film, which grossed $395 million worldwide, the American star already recorded several ABBA tunes. A year ago, she then released a full album with covers of ABBA songs. To accompany the album, Cher also decided to make yet another world tour, aged 73.

That tour, titled Here We Go Again, is set to come to Europe this week. Cher has concerts scheduled in Berlin, Amsterdam, Stockholm, Dublin, Zürich – and the list goes on and on. She will also visit the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest venue, the Wiener Stadthalle in Vienna. The “Believe” singer will give nineteen concerts in Europe between 26th September and 3rd November. After that, she’ll go back to North America for the last leg of her world tour. All tour dates can be found on Cher’s website here.

Just this week, Cher had the opportunity to promote the album, “Dancing Queen”, as well as the tour on the season finale of America’s Got Talent. She didn’t just take any song to highlight the occasion, as she decided to give the USA some “Waterloo”. The 1974 Eurovision winning entry brought a lot of 70s fashion and colour to the America’s Got Talent stage.

Cher and her ensemble clearly enjoyed giving the audience their best of “Waterloo”. Whilst we’re all still waiting for that ABBA comeback, Cher makes their legacy more alive than ever, so make sure you check out her performance below!
