For the past four weeks, Chwilio Am Seren has been taking place in order to find the next Welsh representative for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2019. We have previously confirmed that the Welsh representative will sing ‘Calon yn Curo‘, and Erin will be singing her version in Gliwice-Silesia.
Six songs competed for the chance to represent Wales at Gliwice-Silesia
The following six participants performed in tonight’s show.
- Y Minis
- Rhiannon & Mackenzie
The Chwilio Am Seren final involved the final six performing a Welsh cover of well-known songs. All of the six participants received a great reception from the mentors and the audiences alike.
After the final-six have performed, panelists from all over Wales and London gave their favorites, with Erin, Rhiannon & Mackenzie and Cerys singing for the public vote.
Wales in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2018
Wales made their debut in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest last year in Minsk. They were one of two debuting nations, the other being Kazakhstan. Both countries are returning for the 2019 contest in Gliwice-Silesia.
Manw represented Wales in 2018, with the song “Perta”, finishing in last place with 29 points, one point behind Serbia in 19th place. Wales scored no points from the jury voting, gaining all their points in the online voting.
