Tatyana Mezhentseva & Oorzhak Denberel to represent Russia in Junior Eurovision 2019

It has been revealed that Russia will be represented by Tatyana Mezhentseva and Oorzhak Denberel in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Gliwice on November 24th.

Online voting winners!

Yesterday, the national selection process concluded and Tatyana and Oorzhak were crowned convincing winners. The duo, who perform “Time for Us”, won the online vote that had taken place throughout the past seven days.

And jury favourites!

Then, in yesterday’s televised show, “Time for Us” placed joint first with the kids’ jury and joint second with the adults’ jury. All these scores combined to culminate in a dominant win for Tatyana and Oorzhak.

Russia in Junior Eurovision

Tatyana and Oorzhak will follow in the footsteps of Anna Filipchuk who represented Russia in last year’s contest in neighbouring Belarus with the anthemic “Unbreakable”. Anna places 10th to continue Russia’s streak of reaching the top 10 on every Junior Eurovision appearance.

To date, Russia have taken victory twice. Their first win arrived in 2006 courtesy of the Tolmachevy Twins. Then, in 2017, Polina Bogusevich took home the trophy in Tbilisi with power ballad “Wings”.

My first memory of watching the Eurovision Song Contest was back in 2001 and, over the years, my passion and enthusiasm for the contest has very much turned into an obsession. I adore music and I love geography, so this contest is a natural fit for me. If la la loving Eurovision was a crime, I'd certainly be a criminal!
