Jess is making big things out of 'Little Things' (but in a good way)

2018 Eurovision Australian representative Jessica Mauboy has been gearing up for the release of her new album ‘Hilda’ on October 18, which is her first album in six years.

Since then, she has released two singles from her upcoming album; Sunday and Little Things, with the music video for Little Things being nominated in the ‘Best Video’ category in the ARIA Music Awards.

During an interview with ‘The Project’ Jess confirmed that the video was done in one take where she was able to capture the emotion of the song and what it’s lyrically trying to say.

About ‘Little Things’

When she confirmed her new album ‘Hilda’, Jess has mentioned that ‘Little Things’ holds a “special place to her heart”. In addition to this, Jess has also confirmed that it is her most personal song to date. ‘Little Things’ is about her family, her mother and her grandmother Hilda (the person who the album is dedicated to), who, unfortunately Jess didn’t have a chance to meet.

“This song is everything we want to tell our loved ones… to remind them that all we want is to be loved and appreciated in all of the things we do.”

Jessica Mauboy at the Eurovision Song Contest

Danish broadcaster DR invited Australia as an interval act for the Eurovision 2014. Ultimately, Australia decided to send Jessica Mauboy. She performed ‘Sea of Flags‘ during the 2nd Semi-Final of Eurovision 2014 to positive reception.

However, it seems that Jessica had unfinished business. She was selected to represent Australia at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2018, with her song ‘We Got Love‘. During her participation in Lisbon, she managed to bring Australia to the Grand Final a 4th time. She managed to finish 20th overall with 99 points.

I started watching Eurovision ever since I moved to the UK in 2006, obsessed since 2012 and haven't looked back since.
