This week, the majority of the final versions of the entries for the 2019 Junior Eurovision Song Contest are being released. Next up is Italy’s entry: “La Voce Della Terra” performed by Marta Viola.

A message of saving the planet

“La Voce Della Terra” translates into English as “The Voice of the Earth” and is sung in both Italian and English. The Italian entry was written by Franco Fasano and Marco Iardella. Additionally, the composers of the song are Emilio Di Stefano and Fabrizio Pelaferri. You can watch the official music video for Marta’s entry below, which was filmed in Torino.

Aiming for a second victory?

Marta will represent Italy in Gliwice-Silesia on November 24th in the hope of securing her nation’s second victory in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Vincenzo Cantiello won on Italy’s debut in the contest in 2014 with “Tu Primo Grande Amore”. Furthermore, Fiamma Boccia earned another podium finish for Italy in 2016 with “Cara Mamma (Dear Mom)”.

Last year in Minsk, Melissa & Marco represented their nation with “What Is Love?”. The duo scored very well, placing in seventh with 151 points which included a top-five finish in the jury voting!

Ryan Cobb

My first memory of watching the Eurovision Song Contest was back in 2001 and, over the years, my passion and enthusiasm for the contest has very much turned into an obsession. I adore music and I love geography, so this contest is a natural fit for me. If la la loving Eurovision was a crime, I'd certainly be a criminal!
