🌎 Måneskin, Barbara Pravi and GO_A enter Billboard Global 200

Seven Eurovision 2021 entries made Billboard's Global Excl. U.S. chart this week

After unprecedented engagement with the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest, several artists are finding success across the continent. Several entries are doing incredibly well on streaming servicesand eight 2021 entries charted in last week’s UK Official top 100 charts. Now Billboard, the music industry standard record chart in the United States, has further cemented the international successes of several Eurovision 2021 entries.

In an article titled “New Around the World: Eurovision Infuses Global Charts, Led by Maneskin’s Champ ‘Zitti E Buoni'”, Billboard have highlighted the success of several Eurovision entries in Global charts. Three finalists (winners Måneskin, runner-up Barbara Pravi and 5th placers GO_A) have entered the Global 200.

Although Måneskin reached No. 106 on the Global Excl. U.S. chart following their Sanremo win in March, this week they debuted on the Global 200 at 26. According to MRC Data, they are leading the Eurovision pack, with “Zitti E Buoni” racking up 30.1 million streams and 10,600 sales. In addition, the song debuted at No. 7 on World Digital Song Sales and No. 23 on the airplay-, sales- and streaming-based Hot Hard Rock Songs chart.

Meanwhile, France’s Barbara Pravi debuted on the Global 200 at 148 with “Voilá”. Ukraine’s GO_A debuted at 158 on the Global 200, making “SHUM” both the first song by an artist from Ukraine, and the first Ukrainian-language song, to hit the global charts.

Global Excl. U.S. chart A.K.A. Eurovision 2021 reunion

While the Global 200 chart ranks the top songs globally and is based on digital sales and online streaming from over 200 territories worldwide, the Global Excl. U.S. chart removes all US-based entries from the chart. This calculation has given rise to several more Eurovision 2021 to debut on Billboard.

The Eurovision 2021 entries on the Global Excl. U.S. chart are as follows:

11. 🇮🇹 Måneskin – Zitti E Buoni

70. 🇫🇷 Barbara Pravi – Voilá

80. 🇺🇦 GO_A – Shum

105. 🇫🇮 Blind Channel – Dark Side

119. 🇨🇭 Gjon’s Tears – Tout L’Univers

128. 🇮🇸 Daði og Gagnamagnið – 10 Years

170. 🇨🇾 Elena Tsagrinou – El Diablo

Billboard emphasises that this surge is driven by non-US traction, with 97% of their streams and 94% of their sales being from outside of the US. Usually, 74% and 46%, of streams and sales are from outside of the US (respectively). Could this change as the Eurovision brand gains notoriety outside of Europe?
