Melodi Grand Prix host Annika Momrak to miss the second semifinal due to COVID-19 infection

One of the three hosts of Melodi Grand Prix 2022, Annika Momrak, has tested positive for COVID-19 and will miss the second semifinal of Norway’s national selection this Saturday.

NRK reports that Mikkel Niva and Kåre Magnus Bergh will host the second semifinal of Melodi Grand Prix 2022. Annika hopes she gets to join the party in the upcoming weeks.

Fortunately, there will be a show with Mikkel and Kåre Magnus on Saturday, and I’m really looking forward to physically join the party again as soon as I’m healthy – because the party lasts several more weeks. The vaccines seem to have done an excellent job of equipping my immune system for just this, it is almost touching to think about. My thoughts now go to all those who sit in isolation and for various reasons do not cope so well with being alone. They deserve a big hug and I wish I could give them one!

The Melodi Grand Prix producer Stig Karlsen hints that we might see Annika during the show digitally.

It’s a shame not to have our new host star physically present next Saturday, but who knows? Maybe Annika is with us from the couch digitally? We are working as usual towards a big party and wish Annika a really good recovery and welcome back!
