Earlier today, Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet has reported that ‘The Mamas’ are among the contenders that will participate at Melodifestivalen 2020. Aftonbladet is reporting that the group has submitted an entry, with a soul-funk sound to it.
The group is known for supporting John Lundvik on stage earlier this year whilst competing for Sweden in Tel Aviv with his entry ‘Too Late For Love’.
Who are The Mamas?
Earlier this year, The Mamas were introduced during John Lundvik’s debut of Too Late for Love at the Melodifestivalen stage. The group consists of Loulou Lamotte, Ashley Haynes and Dinah Yona Manna, and Paris Renita.
Since their debut, they have continued to support John Lundvik’s Eurovision journey. The group was also on stage with John during his performance in Tel Aviv, where they managed to place fifth overall. During their time in Tel Aviva, The Mamas even went ahead and participated in promotional activities, one of which you can see below:
Since the Eurovision Song Contest, The Mamas have participated in a Nordic Tour with John Lundvik. In addition to this, they are also set to undertake a Christmas concert at Stockholm this December.
However, if The Mamas are to participate in next year’s Melodifestivalen, it will be as a trio. The group has announced that founding member ‘Paris Renita’ has stepped down after taking part in John Lundvik’s fall tour.
