๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช Irish band The Rua tipped to represent Ireland at Eurovision 2020

The Irish Sun can reveal that the band The Rua have set their sights set on Eurovision next May, exactly 50 years since Dana their aunt, aka Rosemary Scallon, won for Ireland with All Kinds Of Everything.

RTE, Irish broadcaster reportedly got a really great response to Eurovision entries. In their call out, RTE stressed that Irelandโ€™s Eurovision entry must have โ€œprior experience of performing in public in front of large crowds.

Who are The Rua?

The Rua’s concist of the siblings Roseanna Brown, Alanna Brown and Jonathan Brown and were created as a band in 2013. They are nephews and nieces to Eurovision 1970 winner Dana.
They were born and raised in Windsor, England, from parents of Irish descent. Their critics described the style of their music, something between Taylor Swift and Cranberries.
This year the band acted as an opening act for Westlife touring concerts in the UK and Ireland.

The group have responded positively towards a participation in Eurovision in The Netherlands next may and Alanna said her auntie Dana has always been supportive towards The Rua at Eurovision and always backed them to make it to the top. She said:

โ€œShe has always been very supportive and if we have any questions we go to her.โ€

Roseanna added: โ€œShe (Dana) wants us to stand on our own six feet, and didnโ€™t want to get in the way, in any way at all. โ€œSheโ€™s there to support us, we know that. Sheโ€™s interested in the songs, in everything we do, and sheโ€™s there to give us advice“.

Back in 1970, then 18 year old Dana achieved Ireland’s first victory in Eurovision with the song “All Kinds of Everything”.
In 1999 she was elected as member of Parliament, the first Eurovision winner to do so.
In addition to their 68-year-old aunt, The Rua can also rely on the help of Louis Walsh, a well-known manager and X Factor UK judge!
