Blanche performs at Elisabeth of Belgium’s birthday

On 25 October, Crown Princess Elisabeth of Belgium celebrated her 18th birthday. The royal family organized a special ceremony especially for this, on which several guests were invited. A striking presence was Blanche! She was allowed to perform during the Princess’s birthday party.

Treated on beautiful words, music and ballet

Because Princess Elisabeth used to do ballet herself, the Royal Ballet School of Antwerp performed a choreography specially made for this occasion. But, the most striking guest of the day was none other than Blanche. Ellie Delvaux, or Blanche, represented Belgium at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Kiev. With her song City Lights she gave her country a nice fourth place. So she also was present at the Royal Palace and sang some songs in front of the Princess and her guests. Blanche sang a total of three songs, including ‘Miss You’ and ‘City Lights’. At the end of the ceremony, Blanche appeared again to sing ‘Happy Birthday’.

Blanche in the Eurovision Song Contest

As mentioned above, Blanche represented Belgium at the Eurovision Song Contest of 2017. Walloon broadcaster RTBF chose her internally because they saw a lot of potential in her after her participation in The Voice Belgique. When her song “City Lights” came out, most Eurovision fans instantly fell in love with the song. After a bumpy road to Kiev, with lots of trial and error, the young singer made his way to the grand finale. In that final she finished in fourth place.
