🇨🇿 Jan Bors reveals why he resigned as Czech Head of Delegation

It’s been a rather news heavy few weeks for the Czech Republic. Last month, Jan Bors quit as their Head of Delegation and was soon replaced by Cyril Hirsch, then just days ago the Czech broadcaster, ČT, announced that they had abandoned the televised national final and would return to an online process. Jan Bors, the now former Head of Delegation for the Czech Republic, has let the cat out of the bag on exactly why he decided to resign during a Q&A on his Instagram profile.

“It was the last straw”

One of the questions that came up in the Q&A was regarding Jan’s resignation. A viewer asked “Did you quit because the televised national final was cancelled?” Jan’s response was that the cancellation was merely the last straw – there had been several other annoyances and disagreements between him and ČT but the cancellation of the televised national final, something he had been working hard on, was the breaking point for him.

Cancellation of televised national final NOT due to budget cuts

Jan was also asked if the reason that the televised national final was cancelled was due to budget cuts. He reveals that the budget cuts had nothing to do with it, but there were several other problems (which he did not reveal) that led to ČT reverting to their tried and trusted online vote.
