The EBU have announced that 41 countries will participate in the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
Just like Tel Aviv, there will be 41 countries competing to win the coveted trophy. It should be noted that Ukraine initially was set to participate in Tel Aviv… but withdrew a few days after Maruv won Vidbir.
Movers and shakers
Although the number remains the same, the EBU have confirmed the withdrawal of two countries and the return of two more. As previously reported, we won’t be seeing Montenegro or Hungary in Rotterdam. Meanwhile, Bulgaria and Ukraine are back after a year out of the contest. Ukraine remains one of a handful of countries with a 100% qualification record (in the years they have participated), while Bulgaria have had successive qualification success. How will a year out impact these stats?
