Rehearsing today for Malta inside the Gliwice Arena is Eliana Gomez Blanco, performing ‘We Are More’. As the first rehearsals are closed to the press, this review is based upon content made public by the EBU and TVP.
VISUALS: Given the fragments in the rehearsal clip it seems we are being offered a mix of different visuals. Notably a emerald smoke effect, a tree that looks as if it ‘growing backwards’ (leaves and branches retracting). Eliana’s outfit is similar to the music video – wearing a hat identical to the music video to create a clean, yet simple visual identifier.
Towards the end of the rehearsal clip we see a glimpse of what could be directly lifted from the official music video. On the LED screen is what appears to be a person wearing a coat with a tattoo/marking on their forearm which is very reminiscent of Eliana’s music video for ‘We Are More’ . Interestingly, there are lines that cascade over this image, that resonate to match the piano instrumental in the track.
VOCALS: From the clip it seems Eliana is on pitch-perfect form, nailing the lengthy notes with her natural powerhouse vocals!
CHOREO/PERFORMANCE: It appears that Eliana is alone on stage, with the camera doing the movement for her to create an ‘epic’ feel. This matches with her performance itself, which is generally static although she uses her arms to great effect to match the camerawork! This looks like a clever performance that has only teased what we can expect!
Stay tuned for our reviews for the rest of today’s rehearsals from the Gliwice Arena. If you want to know what to expect for the rest of the day, check out our rehearsal schedule.
