Rehearsing today for Albania inside the Gliwice Arena is Isea Çili, performing “Mikja ime fëmijëri”. As the first rehearsals are closed to the press, this review is based upon content made public by the EBU and TVP.
VISUALS: Isea has a lovely backdrop, with images of rainbows, paper aeroplanes and the planet rotating, representing the childhood memories the song is dedicated to.
VOCALS: Isea’s vocals definitely channel the reflective imagery of the song. That said, there were a few moments in the lower register that didn’t have the same poignancy of the rest of the rehearsal clip – but there is more than enough time to work on this tiny quibble!
CHOREO/PERFORMANCE: From what we can see, Isea is following the majority of the artists today who are relatively static and without backing performers. This seems like the right choice, given the busy and colourful backdrop that is captivating to watch.
Stay tuned for our reviews for the rest of today’s rehearsals from the Gliwice Arena. If you want to know what to expect for the rest of the day, check out our rehearsal schedule.
