Rehearsing today for France inside the Gliwice Arena is Carla, performing “Bim Bam Toi”. As the first rehearsals are closed to the press, this review is based upon content made public by the EBU and TVP.

VISUALS: Much like the music video, the backdrop plays on the cartoon-like nature of the onomatopoeia that is highly present in the chorus. Phrases like ‘BIM BAM BOOM’, ‘BIM BAM HAHA’ pop out of the screen, no doubt to get the audience in the arena and home to join in.

VOCALS: Although Carla joins in the choreography, her vocals do not falter. She is certainly showing her experience on stage. Notably, as seen from the picture above, the dancers who are joining her on stage don’t have microphones so are not helping in the vocal department. Clearly, she doesn’t need assistance.

CHOREO/PERFORMANCE: France marks the first country from todays round of rehearsals that include obvious choreography. Carla is joined by four backing dancers, each sporting an umbrella to match the visuals in the music video. A snippet doesn’t do any song/performance justice, but there are real hints of a strong, slick package here.

Stay tuned for our reviews for the rest of today’s rehearsals from the Gliwice Arena. If you want to know what to expect for the rest of the day, check out our rehearsal schedule.
